Mellow Yellow

Is it almost October already? Where did the time go? I'm so excited because Fall is my favorite time of year! I'm a big fan of layering (which is hard to do in the sweltering heat of summer). Fall is the one time of year I can layer away and still remain cool...

I love wearing bright bold colors all year round which isn't something I've always embraced. I would notice my favorite bloggers wearing bright hues and never thought I could pull it off. I'll admit, being a New Yorker, my default color of choice was black. Now that I reside in Virginia, I embrace color a little more! I found my source of color inspiration through two of my favorite bloggers Color Me Courtney and Befitting Style whom both embrace color like life itself depends on it! Since color has a way of evoking certain emotions, I guess in a way it does. My favorite color is blue which has been known to promote physical and mental relaxation, but lately Ive been crushing over the color yellow. Being the lightest hue of the spectrum, the color psychology of yellow is uplifting and illuminating. It offers hope, happiness, cheerfulness and fun. It's also complementary to my favorite hue blue!

Please don't judge me but this Joie leather jacket is the first yellow piece of clothing I've ever owned... EVER! I Love how well the color pops against my dark complexion. Can you believe I was afraid of wearing colors because I thought brighter hues made me look like a clown??!! I know, right? I'm so happy I was able to break out of my shell and embrace how wonderful wearing bright bold colors makes me feel.

I know we are heading into fall but I plan on incorporating brighter colors into my wardrobe all season long...

What are some of the bright bold colors your'e currently crushing over? Leave a comment below!
