Gratitude

Lately, I’ve been thinking about all the things I’m grateful for in life. It’s easy to focus on how things aren’t going right, but I believe if I give enough attention to the positive aspects of my day, I’ll encounter more positive interactions thus having an amazing day, week, month, year and ultimately amazing life! It all starts with thinking positively even when things aren’t going as I’ve planned—like waiting longer than expected for something you really want…

As a New Yorker, I’m use to living in apartments/condos and honestly, up until last year, never thought I’d ever leave the island of Manhattan, yet now find myself living and looking for a home in Northern Virginia. While Will and I search for our future forever home, some days I feel like we are moving along as planned and other times I feel like our dreams are out of touch. These are the days I need to focus on the positive aspects of our life. For one, we have each other and our beautiful fur baby Diamond. We also have a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs and food in our mouths and a loving family that’s always there when we need them most. Knowing that I have the basic necessities met helps to keep things in perspective.

Another thing I’m super grateful for is having a supportive life partner that not only gives great business advice, but is also apart of my creative team. Will is behind 99.9 percent of all of my photos—selfies not included obviously!! He gives great direction on set, knows my best angles better than I do and gives me 100 percent of his love and support. I couldn’t have asked for a better life and business partner.

The other day we shot this gorgeous TopShop rainbow metallic plisse midi skit with my fave sequin t-shirt, the Wrangler denim jacket i’ve been living in and Sergio Rossi pumps. This is one of my favorite looks because its bold, beautiful and bright—it’s hard to have a bad day in colors that make you smile!

I’ve come to realize that things won’t always go as I’ve planned, but the outcome could be better than I expect! God will never lead me where his grace can’t keep me. There’s always a lesson in life’s unfavorable moments...if I look deep enough I may learn something new.
